【About the Instructor】
Mr. Stewart has over 24 years experience in new product development and system engineering areas. Before he became an entrepreneur in 2008, Mr. Stewart had worked for Bell Laboratories for many yeas on new product research and development in high performance communication equipment, large-scale distributed object processing system, real-time distributed processing system, mobile communication, network verification and recovery.
During his tenure at Bell Lab, Mr. Stewart applied analytical and problem solving abilities to creatively resolve complex engineering issues, leading to substantial cost reductions and revenue increases. Mr. Stewart has more than a dozen US and international patents in various areas of networking, reliability, testing, and processor architecture.
【Course Description】
The Route to Become a Global Engineer is a team-taught core course. Upon completion of the course, students will:
v understand global engineering concept and basic functions;
v be familiar with global engineering process;
v be familiar with global engineering standards, international regulations, professional societies, and international licensures in engineering;
v be familiar with the characteristics of global engineers;
v understand a clear route to become a global engineer.
Students will deliver a global engineering project starting from identifying a global real problem.
